What is the best way to get rid of scars (not just acne scars, but scars in general)?

Question:

Curad scar therapy works really well. There are other brands too - check with your pharmacist. Mederma is also good as an ointment.

Vitamin E can work well. I would not suggest using neat Vitamin E oil, or directly from a capsule. I have had patients use it on surgical incisions (4-6 weeks old) and it really irritated them, made things red and itchy. If you use Vitamin E in a moisturizer cream and work it into the scar, the massage and cream combine effects. Try working in small semi-circles away from the scar - this will help to stretch it better.

Retin- A cream - you need a presciption. Or you can buy Retinol - A cream from a vitamin store, but it is not as strong. Also DMAE cream. - Good luck!

Vitamin E oil is supposed to be good for that, to be used while the wound is healing. Other than that, doctors can perform microdermabrasion and/or z-plasty to remove or hide scars. there is an ointment for that. will email the name

Ok, check this remedy out! Years ago, as I was leaning over in a chair atop a Motor Home, the chair collapsed and I fell down the front, smacking my face on a Harley Davidson motorcycle peg. I took 111 stitches to my left cheek near my eye. I was freakin' out! Despite a plastic surgeon working on me, he advised there would be a scar there forever. But an older woman advised me to boil a chicken and to skim the fat off the top of the pan, save it, and let it turn to the fat is was. Then, to apply it like a salve on the wound (after it healed). I did this for several weeks and the scar is so slight most people never notice it! And remember, I took 111 stitches! So I'd say that worked for me. Good luck!

I have found that time along with taking care of your skin and making sure (if you do break out) to keep the breakouts at bay. There are skin grafts for bad scars on the body, but they leave you with another scar where they took the skin in another area of your body. For your face, there is dermabrasion, but it costs a lot of money. I think it is important to keep the skin that is damaged very moisturized and protected. Use petrolium jelly, or a moisturizer with a thick petrolium jelly base on it every night.
