Yes they are similar.
They are of a heavier gauge metal and of course sterile.
They will not puncture an organ if they have been used to staple the skin closed. There are layers of fat , tissue and muscle before you come anywhere near an organ.

I wouldn't think so because hospitals/doctors would probably have special staples that would'nt fall out untill they can take them out.The only thing similar is the way they work. They can loosen but that is rare. They are made of metal. They will not get loose inside the body.
