what is the best treatment for a sunburn?

Question:
i know i should have used sunscreen! :(

Answers:
Banana Boat make a great lotion called aloe after sun. It is really good. If sun burned, try dabbing cold wet tea bags (lipton tea works the best) on the burned area. The sooner you use the bags, the better it works after a long day in the sun. I learned this from an Herbalist, it worked good for me. Easied the pain and limited the peeling after word..

Other Answers:

i use aloa vera i think thats what its called its very effective because its a natural plant or you could just get a tube of it at the store its very cold when applied but it stops the burning feeling of sun burn

well u can use alovera or some other sunburn gel Use aloe vera, take cold showers, drink lots of water, and try to stay out of the sun until it's healed up.

Start with a nice cool bath (not a shower), then, do not dry off completely, apply a cold gel (Banana Boat makes a good one), next, take a couple of Tylenol. Put on a big oversized t-shirt and relax. Drink plenty of water.

I found that mixing vinegar and water and spraying it on burned areas takes away the burn. I know your thinking the smell, but it actually goes away rather fast. Your body absorbs it. It really works, i usually mix about 50/50

First take a cold (or cool) shower. Then put something like aloe vera on the affected skin. If you have blisters, a dry bandage will help protect from infection.

Apply cool compresses to the burned area to help cool the skin. Dip towels or washcloths into cool water to make a compress and gently apply it to the sunburned area.
Soaking in a cool bath often helps relieve the pain of sunburn. Add one-half cup of baking soda to a full tub of bathwater, or use an over-the-counter bath product. Avoid products that leave your skin oily.
Drink plenty of water, especially after participating in sporting or other strenuous activities.
Rest in a cool, quiet room.
For adults, age 20 and over, take acetaminophen or aspirin to relieve the pain. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for dosages. Do not give aspirin to persons under the age of 20; it can cause a rare but serious problem known as Reye's syndrome. However, ibuprofen and acetaminophen, as directed, are safe.
Wear light-colored, natural fiber, and loose-fitting clothes to allow your skin to breathe as much as possible.
Avoid more exposure to the sun. Wear a wide- brimmed hat, long-sleeved shirts, and long pants and wear sunscreen.
Avoid products containing benzocaine. Though benzocaine will numb the skin, it can irritate the skin and delay healing of sun-damaged skin by triggering an allergic reaction.
Nothing can prevent peeling after sunburn. Lotions, however, can help relieve itching.
