Sometimes I get an upset stomach before I have a bowel movement?

Question:
Sometimes I get an upset stomach with an extreme urgency to have a bowel movement. This comes and goes. What I am wondering about is when I have the bowel movements that are accpomainied with abdominal pain and urganecy the bowel movement is loose and contains what looks like corn. What's weird is I have not eaten corn. Does anyone know what this could be?

Answers:
It could be that the food you recently ate was really spicy or acidic. This would cause the symptoms you have. (I've had them myself and it was always the result of eating a lot of spicy food after having nothing on my stomach all day.)

You'd be surprised at what some of the spicy food has in it -- corn is very possibly one of the items in a taco or burrito or taco salad, for instance...

Try taking something that counteracts the acid in your stomach. (I use "Tagamet HB 200") And cut back on spicy food for awhile to see if that alleviates the symptoms.

If the symptoms increase or get more painful, then I suggest you talk to your physician about it.
