You need to learn and fight back!
Go for the beast's jaw. The mutt won't clamp down on your fingers. With confidence, there is a gap in there convenient for your grip.
Once you have it cinched, just beat the unholy hell out of it by whipping it repeatedly onto the ground. Or, take it to nearest utility pole and do the same.
They are nice critters when they wag their tail but,, don't ever let them be the top dog.
Other Answers:
you need to be more careful
You sure do, just to be on the safe side
no. unless the skin is broken there is no threat of tetanus. but feel free to kick the dog!
Best to get it checked out. For tetanus.
you should any way!
If you know for sure that the dog has his/her shots, then your fine, but in the meantime, check for signs like fever, fatigue, vomiting, etc. then ya go to the doc.
so you got a nip.
no you don't need medical attention. unless the dog had rabies. and there is no rabies in the UK.
Yes, if you have no blood in your body you may have been the victim of a vampire attack.
If your local doctor can't help-try Van Helsing.
It's a good idea. Unless it was your dog and you are 200% certain of their history.
If the skin was broken AT ALL, get it checked by a doctor to be safe.
yes, b/c it's the the loss of blood that's dangerous, it's the transfer of rabies that's dangerous.
Rabies is in the saliva of rabid dogs and other animals. so unless you KNOW 100% the dog doesn't have rabies. you need to go get help
btw. you get tetanus from rusty nails and such, you get rabies from animals. omg.. where do some people come up with this stuff?
if the skin was broken you need medical attention even if no blood was drawn. the doctor will fill out a bite card and send it to the department of health. if it is a stray dog you might need to get rabies vaccine. you must see the doctor if the skin was broken.
best get a tetanus injection.makes your leg or bum go numb though
.Yes blood does not have to be drawn to get ray bee Even if you had something it would happen within 24 hrs.
no, only if the skin was broken, if it was you better find the owner, and make sure the dogs shots are up to date, and see your doctor.
You'll be fine as there was no blood but if you are going to worry maybe go and see your GP to be sure.
Be careful of dog's and teeth dangerous combination :)
Wash the area with soap and water.
If the skin was broken get a tetanus. Its unlikely tha dog was rabid, if you're concerned see your gp.
If there was no skin break wash the bite area with disinfectant. Hydrogen peroxide, etc.
Make sure your tetanus immunity shots are up to date. They should be renewed every 10 years. (it used to be every 5 years).
Good luck,

Its always best to be on the safe side and get it checked. It may also be worth taking the dog to a vet in case you've passed anything on to it. If its not a dog you know or like you could report it as a danger and get it put down.
