What is the recommended hours of sleep for a student? Are naps helpful or detrimental? Sleep=better results?

Question:

Answers:
Amount of sleep is different for different people. Some need 10 and others 4 (I recalled an interview with Donald Trump in which he said he only need 4 hours of sleep). My best advise is to be disciplined about sleep. Go to sleep at a certain time and wake up at a certain time. How much time? Well, how many hours of sleep do you need to feel really refreshed the next day.

Naps again depends on the person. For some people, "power laps" are helpful.

Sleep=better result? Well, I'll tell you that if you are cramming for a final or trying to whip up an essay the night before you have not prepared for the class in advance. When I was in college, I always got about 9 hours of sleep before exam. My papers were also done a few days before they were due. I felt sharper and more alert when I get enough sleep. (It always felt great when the professor wrote a letter of recommendation for me and invariably the first sentence read as follow "he ranked 1 out of 600 students."

Other Answers:
8 hours of sleep is normal. I'm not a big fan of naps. When I take them it seems to slow me down when I wake up instead of rejuvenate me. New studies show that it helps many people, though. You have to try it all until you find what works for you.
8 to 10 hours a day. Personally, afternoon naps aren't so helpful when I want to have a good night sleep.
hi i am a medical student of osmania medical college ..''8hrs''.absoulty essential.naps r reallygood.they help 2 rejenuvate ur brain fill it with neurotrasmittors that r essential for remembering.so sleep well. study well.

Ten years ago I could go on five hours any day of the week and if I got a power nap for 20 minutes or so my life was wonderful. I think that it really depends on your own body though. I would say that if you are getting less than seven hours and you feel tired you need more sleep. Don't push your body to function on too little sleep though because it can cause your immune system to weaken and it can even cause your short term memory to be a bit patchy at times.
7-8 hours
the required hours of sleep every day for a student is 6-8 hrs and yes naps do help a lot.
