Sprained ankle?

Question:
i have a very minor sprained ankle, how long shou;ld i wait before i start playing sports, excercising(weights), and doing plyometrics again

Answers:
4 to 6 weeks. Depends on how quickly your body heals itself.
until you can walk on it with no pain
3 weeks.
I didnt listen to my doctor when he told me to wait 3 weeks and it took about 3 months to heal. Not fun. My ankles still swolen and i sprained it in augest.
So keep off it for 3 weeks so you dont have to wait 3 months.
Listen to your body, it will tell you when it's too soon. Remember to RICE rest, ice, compression and elevate. Try walking in the pool and gentle cycling on a stationery bike to start, then return to your sports and weights gradually and keep those weights light until you rebuild to where you were. Don't run any marathons for a while!
Until the doctor says it's healed.
i had a sprained ankle and i plyed basketball through it, it wasnt easy so im not suggesting that but deff take like a week and 1/2 the least off till you go back..
If you have a first-degree sprain, you should be out about 3-5 days. Make sure it feels stable and check it by doing lateral movements along with figure 8s. Be sure to use the RICE method for the next 48 hours if you need to. Also take an anti-inflammatory if allowed.
R-REST
I-ICE
C-COMPRESSION
E-ELEVATION
I would ice it every 20 mins elevate as much as possible. If you need to go out wrap it with ace bandage not to tight and use crutches don't put any weight on it. Do not put a shoe on. Also go to the health food store and get 2 things that will help you one is oral it's called Arnica montana 30 C it's by Boiron used for Trauma Muscle Soreness and follow instructions the other is by B&T Arniflora Arnica Gel 2.75oz relieves pain swelling & stiffness.
