Answers:
That sounds like badly chapped lips, not a cold sore. Cold sores are herpes. A herpes sore is a small cluster of painful blisters and once you have herpes, it never really goes away. Don't say "cold sore" unless you want people to automatically think "herpes."
If you suspect herpes, see your doctor. Otherwise, find a nice lip balm. The ones with a beeswax base work really well.

Cold Sores = Herpes.
cold sores are herpes, and are usually on or near the lips, dry and flaky also indicates herpes

sores on the inside of the mouth, on the gums, soft tissue, tongue are apthus ulcers (or canker sores) and are and auto-immune reaction, not herpes.

COLD SORES are NOT caused by stress--they are a viral infection from herpes that you cannot get rid of

canker sores can be exacerbated by stress, but are not caused by stress--watch all this misinformation
if you have had cold sores before in your lifetime, then it is in you but not active.
cold sores are caused by herpes simplex. kids can often get them, too.l
google it. if this is what you have , then it is often triggered by ultimate stress.
but if it is something else, I hope you find out what it is . take care.
yes some coldsores are cause by stress but it is also a virus but you will be fine in a week or so .
All cold sores are herpes.....hate to tell you that but it is true. Gotta get some antiviral meds from your doctor. (yes, genital herpes can be spread by oral sex) pretty much all the same family of herpes virus.
