How do I obtain the most appropriate health insurance?

Question:
I haven't really got a clue, I had been on Medicaid until I become employed about 4 months ago; I have been without medical insurance all this time waiting to be hired permanently and I don't want to wait any longer; the temp agency's offer foer insurance is limited a I need regular doctor's visit, gynecological visits, and psychiatric/psychological visits with prescriptions. Mind you I make 8.50 an hour and have three kids but only need the insurance for myself, they are covered. What do I do? Where do I start please and thank you?

Answers:
Try getting a quote online. I am paying less than 1/2 of what I was before after going online & submitting a quote request & I have a lower co-pay & better coverages.

Get health insurance quotes at:

call a local insurance agent.
you may still qualify for some state aid of some sort since you are lower income level w/ dependent children...
if not, i would probably recommend a policy with a higher deductible, at least $500, (instead of like a $20 copay) but have the agent run the numbers of what this would cost per month... usually a policy with a deductible is less per month than one with a low copay.
then when you go to the doctor you have to make sure to go to one in your network, & they write off a percentage of the costs & that goes toward your deductible...
yes, you will have to pay your first $500 up front in medical costs, but your monthly insurance premiums will probably be a lot cheaper (put that money aside for the medical costs you may have).

hope that helps.
