Sarah, presuming that you are not under any abnormal stress or circumstances, i.e change of diet or exersize routine, I'm guessing that you're between 13 and 20 years old?

Through studies of sleep patterns of people between the ages of 8 and 90 recently conducted in Germany, it appears that our biological clock (that is to say, whether we stay up and rise late or early) changes when we hit puberty.
Though children will generally be 'larks,' teenagers will go to bed progressively later and rise later until about 20 years old. Then the process reverses, and elderly people eventually experience the opposite problem to teenagers, they cannot stay asleep and rise too early.

The change in our body clock when we hit puberty causes teenagers to experience symptoms not unlike that of jetlag; not being able to sleep and then battling to rise in the morning, feeling tired and sluggish. In America scientists have even found the same syptoms as narcolepsy in some teenagers!

But there might still be some hope! Some schools in Minnesota have already moved their start time back an hour, and if the changes do occur elsewhere they're hoping for schools and Universities not to start before 11 am.

But in the meantime what you can try is getting more light in the morning, even just for a quick walk outside. This can help to re-adjust the body clock because the light outside on a rainy day is much much stronger than the light inside. We are sensitive to light in more ways than we realize and most of us are stuck inside too much and it can cause health problems such as these.

If this seems like it could be what's causing your sleep problems, get hold of The New Scientist article from 2 September 2006, it makes for a very eye-opening read.
you're human
If I knew that Id make millions of people happy.;
you could be depressed, or under a lot of stress. Maybe you need more excersize, more goals in your life, that sort of thing. talk to some friends or a teacher or someone who is good at giving advice
You find it hard to get off to sleep because you have a guilty conscience .. And you don't like waking up because you are lazy.
Two questions, don't forget to mention both to your doctor, your age etc plays into this as well
Too much time on Yahoo Answers trying to get your quota of Answers for the day.
Lots of people suffer from insomnia, but you also say you don't like waking up. It would seem to me that you have a lot on your mind, or are worried or stressed about something. You didn't really explain your reasons, so it's hard for me to give you a good answer. There are lots of sleep aids you can buy over the counter, but if you don't enjoy waking up, maybe you need to talk to someone or get some counseling.
Your body clock could be set to a different time. It sounds weird but if you are whats called a 'morning person' you go to bed earlier and have no problem getting up. If you are a night person (i am one) then you have trouble going to sleep early and getting up early!
Party on dude!!!.
cos' you already slept the whole days
You find it hard to sleep because you love life and don't want to miss out on anything. Your mind doesn't want to stop. You don't want to get out of bed because everybody needs sleep and you need your quota.
Make yourself go to bed at the same time every night. Whilst your lying down, as soon as thoughts come into your head stop them. Think of nothing.self hynosis. You will then fall asleep and when alarm goes you can get out of bed.
This can be a sign of depression..
Some medication can also cause this.
I have to take strong sleeping tablets because I suffer from chronic insomnia..
I am lucky and work from home so I make my own sleeping hours.. I go to sleep about 2am and get up at 10am, I find I get the most restorative sleep in that period..
There are many non drug ways to relax.. Chamomile teas.. Relaxing aromatherapy blends..
Also try not to read or watch TV in bed.. You have to program your brain into associating bed with sleep..
It will take a few weeks but it might just work..
Another thing to consider is maybe going to a sleep clinic and getting them to watch overnight to rule out any sleeping related illnesses
stress probably..you're worried about things you didn't do right today and do not want to face the same problem when you wake up the next day.i too had this problem...at night, don't force yourself to sleep , bcoz when you force yourself to sleep, you are just going to get up even more tired the next day.. so, just relax when you go to bed..relax your mind.think of something nice:perharps people or places you adore.. don't strain your brain and soon you will find yourself in the dream world you have always wanted to be.and you would not have problems waking up the next day either coz you have had a good rest and you are no longer bothered by yesterday's problems. So, the main point is getting a good rest rather than a forced sleep.
you need to be relaxed to get a good nights sleep. the best way to do it without drugs is to go to the supermarket and get some camomile tea bags. make the tea and sweeten with 2 teaspoons of honey. take half a hour before bedtime. and it will soon be time for sweet dreams, and feeling good when you wake up.
