How long does it take for a broken blood vessel to disappear from one's eye white?

Question:
This happened to me five days ago, and it is taking forever to disappear. This happened to me over 10 years ago, and it went away the very next day. Maybe my nutrition is weak, and I am getting older. Or could it be something else. I am 54. Nothing hit my eye, a blood vessel just broke... I think. Help.

Answers:
The broken blood vessel is like a bruise-it's more noticeable though since there is no pigment like with your skin. It will vary in time to dissipate, like with a bruise. But approximately 2 weeks. You may want to get your blood pressure checked and make sure that it's not high. Love conquers all things.

1-2 months
It shouldn't take more than a week I would think. You might call your doctor's office and ask to speak to the nurse. When I had my daughter almost 4 years ago, I broke blood vessels in both eyes and it took a while to go away. When I left the house, I had to wear sunglasses, because I looked evil. LOL!!!!
it took my mom 3 weeks
This is called a subconjunctival hemorrhage. It's very common, doesn't hurt, isn't dangerous, and will resolve on its own. It can take up to a couple of weeks (sometimes a little longer) for your body to reabsorb the blood. But it will go away gradually.
