The phlegm that hangs around in your throat?

Question:
Is that from post nasal drip? Can't stand it but it is so hard to get rid of it.

Answers:
Yes, that's where it comes from. The best way to get rid of it is to stop it from the source. Pseudafed works pretty good.

Otherwise, try drinking hot fluids such as tea that don't contain milk. That sort of melts it and allows you to clear your throat.

Other Answers:
Milk and dairy products makes that, take some musinex D, this should help.
Post nasal drip is a mean thing. I use benedryl at night because it make me drowsy. Use a non-drowsy medicationn during the day. Consult your doctor before taking any over the counter medicatio.
Hawk it out!
Spit it out!
Yes...I take Zyrtec D - it dries everything in the throat up. Some use it for Allergies as well. I had that same problem with clearing my throat every 15 seconds. That's not good - so I went to an ENT who precribe the Zyrtec for me.
Usually its the start of a sinus infection.

Its inflammation in the throat/nasal area that builds it up.

It can be the result of irritation of the throat or bronchial tubes, allergies. Do you consume dairy products? Milk, ice cream, yogurt, milk shakes all produce phlegm. Don't put milk or cream in your coffee or tea. Do drink water with a bit of lemon juice in it to help clear your throat.
