I would like to hear from anyone who has had Synvisc injected into their knees.?
Question:
Answers:
My dad has had something injected into his knees (maybe Synvisc?). He can move much better than he could just a year ago, but is still stiff after a prolonged sitting period (driving for a couple of hours, for example).
He has also been excercising his knees, using an old office chair. He sits in the chair with feet on floor and rocks back and forth, keeping his knees in motion.
It has provided considerable relief- the injection as well as the frequent movement. I don't know when he might need another injection, but he's been good for nearly six months now. (His doc had looked at the x-ray of his knees and said they looked like candidates for replacement, but my dad is too young for that- almost 60).
If it's something you are considering, I would advise it (provided it is the same stuff). It's nice to see my dad moving a bit more easily and to know that he isn't hurting so much. He takes an aspirin daily as well, but I believe that all three measures together have given him years more movement (provided he continues with this regimen- which I'm sure he will- his wife is a doctor).
