Why do we lose our sense of taste when we get a cold?
Question:
Answers:
What we experience as "taste" has a lot to do with our sense of smell! With a cold, and nasal congestion, we cannot smell foods as well, so the sense of taste is diminished. As soon as you can breathe well through your nose, your sense of taste improves.
Other Answers:
When your nose is stuffed up, you don't smell as well, and taste and smell are linked.
