Your suppose to drink 8 but it is so hot these days that you should try to drink as much as possible to stay hydrated
at least 8 glasses per day...if not.could cause headaches..dehydration...poor bowel movements...poor stomach..dry skin...dizziness...
You should drink 64 ounces (8 glasses) of water a day. If you don't you may get dehydrated, have dry skin, and sometimes get headaches. It is hard to drink that much at first, try working yourself up to it, and make sure you are near a bathroom!
Water helps keep your system "flushed ' of toxins and hydrates the skin. I would assume that not drinking enough water would have the opposite effect. Your body uses water to keep everything from blood flowing to your muscles hydrated. This is why people can not go more than two days without water.
drink lots of water! you really can't have too much. not drinking enough can affect your thought process, cause you pains, digestive problems, etc.

i suggest drinking at least 80 to 100 ounces a day. there is no end to the benefits of drinking water!
The rule of 8, 8 ounce glasses of water is arbitrary, but you should drink plenty. Sometimes when you feel hungry, you are actually thirsty, so just drink. Dehydration occurs in severe cases of lack of water. You stop sweating and your kidneys start to shut down - not good.
I heard that ideally, male adults need to drink at least 2.5 litres per day. In hot weather this should be up to 4 litres.

However, the water should be consumed over the course of the day - one glass at a time.
you should drink 1 liter (~1 quart) of water per every 1000 calories of food you eat to ensure healthy metabolism. In addition to that, you should drink water enough to replentish what you loss from sweat/evaporation, especially if you work out.
The effects are not so serious. Dehydration causes the body to not work optimally, headaches, decreased athletic performance, GI distress. but only if you drop to less than 2 cups of water per day, do have get real problems - not enough water to carry out the basic waste removal needs of the body. yuck!
The other really nasty side effect of not drinking enough water is kindey stones. You don't want those. Basically the urine crystalizes, and you have to pass a rock. I have heard 8 glasses is on the high side, 6 is closer to the actual target, but I assume you can google as well as I can for that.

The effects of not drinking enough water are dehydration. Those symptoms vary from headache to heart flutters to dry skin. No matter what the symptoms, dehydratin is not good for your body.

How much a person should drink depends on several things; their level of physical activity, their environment (hot/dry), their body needs, physical problems/medical problems. A good rule of thumb is some where around 8 glasses a day (8 oz.). If you drink coffee or tea you dehydrate yourself more.
8 8oz glasses of water. Dry mouth deydration constipation etc.
You don't need to drink 8 glasses (2 liters) of water a day. You certainly don't need 1/2 your body weight (in oz.) per day. You don't need ANY arbitrary target amount per day.
JUST drink when you're thirsty. Period!
