Can you figure out what triggers your headache?
The suggestions listed here are all good. I have tried many of them depending on what caused my headache. Tension, dehydration, missed meal, hormones, etc.
The key is to start some type of relief therapy before the headache gets worse. I would start with the water and then try some of the suggested treatments. Good luck.
you can try a Magnisium supplement and try breathing deeply and relax your head.
This really sound bizarre but it works. I don't like taking pills either.
Get an ice cube and rub the palm of your hand with it for a couple of minutes and the headache will go away.
I don't get headaches much, but when I do- I have to go to bed. I need the room to be dark and I have to close my eyes. When I wake up its gone.
There is a pressure point between your index finger and your thumb...pinch and hold it for about 5 minutes...it will relieve the pressure for a bit..if you do it enough times, say 3, your headache will go away.
lots of headaches are caused by dehydration. try drinking a few glasses of water.
Drink a tall glass of water and then take a nap. Works every time for me. That way, you cover the possibility of dehydration, and then doze off so you aren't in pain any more. When you wake up, the water will have worked if you were indeed dehydrated, and you'll have a nice little energy boost for the rest of the day!
Usually headaches are caused by muscle tension in the neck or upper back. Find those tense muscles with your fingertips. They will feel like tight strings. You can usually follow the muscle up the neck. Rub these with a lot of pressure across the muscle like you are strumming a guitar. This is likely to hurt a little but the muscle will soon let go and relax. Or you may find a tight knot. Push on and hold these with a lot of pressure for a few minutes until they relax. Or your tension may be from a scalp muscle in the temples or a jaw muscle. Use your fingertips to find the cause and work out these tight muscles.
usually going to sleep in a dark room works
Sometimes I get terrible headaches, probably migraines. I take a very hot bath which seems to get the blood flowing or relaxes muscles. Seems to work for me.
Rub the back of your neck just below the hairline. Drink water, drinking caffeine can help. Lay down if possible.
