I have limited use of my right hand following two open heart surgeries. Need answer!?
Question:
I had two open heart surgeries last year. The problem was on my right hand before the surgery, but has worsened. Does anyone know what causes this & what can be done about it? Heart surgeon, plastic surgeon, cardiologist, GP, PA & physical therapist all had the same answer. Looking for a better answer than “Hm-m-m”.
Answers:
Possible neuropathy to Brachial plexus ( sends nerves to arm)
Neurontin may help. Ask your Doctor if he wants to try you on it.
The Surgery may have affected nerve groups near the field of operation.
Other Answers:
use your left hand
Have you had a stroke as well? That can cause limb problems.
