When my children were younger, I was told by my pediatritian to get that fever down--with motrin or tylenol. Having a high fever for any length of time is dangerous--and possibly deadly.

overnight if the fever breaks. what you want to do is wrap them with blankets and let them sweat all the fever out. i've never had a fever where it didn't break doing this method.

Could be four or five days. Are you talking about children, teenagers, adults or older adults? (I figure it's about children.) Too dangerous to fool around with on elevated temperatures. If you are a Christian Scientist and/or can't have antibiotics or prescribed medicine, at least please see the local pediatrician. If it's regarding an adult or older person, please check with your local general practitioner/doctor. Check webmd.com for specifics other than drinking lots of water and fluids.
