Does sleeping with two pillows affect my posture?

Question:
Ok I just had a surgery 5 days ago and I am in the process of recovery. I have to be practically all day in bed resting, and the nurses told me to use two pillows because is the best way to recover since I had a surgery in my jaw.

But does sleeping with two pillows is going to affect my posture cause I heard it does.

I am a pretty active person, I like to do exercises like pilates, yoga, run etc and I know that as soon as I completely recover I am going to be active working out. Is my posture going to be fine again?

Answers:
In general, a suitable pillow size should help your body to align to its natural self e.g. curve of the neck, relative height of the top of the head and jaw.

I'd imagine that the 2 pillow advice was given because of your recent surgery. Once you are recovered, you should find out the right pillow size for yourself.

Other Answers:
It proboble gives you more comfort and it does give you more support. I think after you recovory it will be a little unstable, but after some days past it will be back to normal.

I always sleep with two pillows. I think my posture is ok. Where did you hear that two pillows were bad for you? YES SLEEPING WITH TWO PILLOWS WILL AFFECT YOUR POSTURE IF YOU DO IT FOR A LONG TIME. BUT ONE OR TO NIGHTS MAY ONLY GIVE YOU A BACKACHE.

If it would take only a couple of weeks to a month,
probably there is nothing to worry about your pillows affecting your posture. For now, it would be best to heed the nurses' advice. i use several pillows when i sleep. your posture would be caused from the bed being not firm enough. i had my jaw re-built several times and slept with three pillows. it also keeps you from rolling onto one side and sleeping directly on your jaw. i can't sleep unless i have three pillows.
