Is it unusual?

Question:
Ok, so my grandfather an ex-soldier of 30 years was never injured at all in the Army, while on his first day on the job as a forklift operator somebody smashed his thumb and shattered the bone?

Answers:
not really
most civilan jobs are actcullay more hazerdous than the military the reason for this is is the military has strict giude lines that must be followed where in civilan world people are careless and do not have the strong structure that the military installs so not not unusal at all it is all about watching and training.

How was his thumb smashed?Musta been an accident. no - things happen. he was probably more alert before and people were more careful in the army. hope he gets well soon

the real world lol

i don't know ,,,,,,bad karma!

well ive never heard of it happenign quite like that before. I think that's lucky. he never got shot but he hurts his thumb at work? Seems like a good deal to me.

I'd say it's just ironic:)

No. But he's really lucky he wasn't more seriously injured.

no? I'd say that its more ironic than unusual?

no.

Not unusual some people go through the most dangerous things just to come out the other end alive only to die of a simple desease or insect bite.

That is actually common in the work place where safety isn't stressed. Balance I guess?

I knew a kid who served in Vietnam, came home unscated and a few months later died of diabetes. Luck of the draw?
