i have a sore heel. its not bleeding or anything. just feels bruised and aches. what's up with me?

Question:
I haven't jumped down hard or anything. but it hurts to walk, feeling like a bruise.

Answers:
You might have plantar fascitis. It's a tear in the tissue that supports the heel. I had it 6 years ago. Please go to a podiatrist. They can get you on orthotics that will help take pressure off when you walk. Also, will give you some streching exercises, maybe a cortisone shot or ultrasound therapy. If it does not respond to any of these, then surgery, which I avoided thank goodness. Look it up on net for more info. Special shoes may help as well; with elevated heel support. Good luck,...it will take a long time for it to heal...took mine nearly 3 years.

It might be heel spur. It is easily seen on x-ray. It goes away on it's own. You might want to try wearing padded shoes and avoid jumping and standing on foot for long periods of time.
