sleeping problem, knees?

Question:
I have a weird sleeping problem. I sleep with my legs curled, I have tried to stop but that is how I wake up. sometimes I sleep on my back, left knee turned "outward." When I wake up the pain is excruiating (I have to literally lift my leg with my hand and turn my knee n' leg back straight) cuz my knee has been turned an awkward way all nite! I wake up like this - how do I stop doing this during sleep? What causes me to sleep in odd, painful positions that I can't control till morning?

Answers:
Right before you go to sleep, lay down and turn that leg outward the way that you find it in the morning. After you can see where and how the leg is resting, get some pillows or an extra blanket and prop the leg up until it's at a more comfortable position. Leave the pillows/blanket there, so that when you go turn that leg out overnight, it won't be flat down on the bed and painful in the morning. Having propped up a bit in a more natural and comfortable position might save you some of the joint pain you've been having.
Sleep on your side.
