She really needs to ask her doctor. It depends what two places she broke her leg. Casts are often off in 6 weeks. It depends also on what surgery she had. Only the physician who is treating her can give an accurate and safe estimate.
my mother broke her foot in 2 places....after the cast came off and they gave her that big black boot, it took about 1 month and a half for her to be able to drive again. and she has to wear a protective shoe when driving.
