What are the best shoes to wear for shifts where I will be 8 hours on my feet?

Question: I just started a job at a convenience store where I will be standing for 8 hours at a time. I don't have any foot problems or abnormalities. I do have a limited budget. What is the best type of shoe to keep my feet and back from hurting?

Answers:
I work a 16 hr shift sometimes and my feet hurt but not as much as if I wore poor quality shoes. I don't think there is a perfect shoe for those long hours but I think gel pads help. I buy two sets and use double padding. I wear Dr. Scholls white nursing shoe looking clogs and they seem to work.

nurses shoes are the very best. i used to work on a conveyor belt a plus hours a day and they made a big difference. they don't have to be namebrand. i got mine at payless.
