~*~Mosquito Bites~*~?
Question:
i was wondering if there was anthing to put on mosquito bites to reduce swelling and itching? thanks so much!
Answers:
they sell stuff for that called afterbite but it will really sting to put it on if you've already scratched the bite. check in the repellent section.
Other Answers:
We use "AFTERBITE" in our house. It works great. Comes in liquid form in shape of pen. Drug stores/Costco, etc. carry it. There are many other meds available at stores too.
scratch the crap outa them hahaha benadryl cream. or howevers its spelled. like the pill you take for allergies.
Get Stingeze at your local drugstore
its the best
its called after bite
its sting alittle at first but its ok
wash them right away with soap and water, then put some rubbing alcholol on them.
vinegar! it's the best solution.my grandparents said that's what they used to do back in Greece.ahh the good old days it'll sound odd, but cactus juice helps with that, I know first hand. kinda hard to find except in arizona and stuff though.
Anything with antihistamine should work. It helps with allergic reactions and why itch after we get bitten because we are allergic to the saliva.
believe it or not toothpaste works.not the gel kind though
try rum. it will also burn, but it will reduce the swelling, and you dont need to repeat the treatment. use it once, deal with the sting, and forget about it. Calamine Lotion its pink or you can wipe it down with and alcohol prep. ( that sometimes stings)
If you scratch you start what is known as the scratch reflex and it will continue to itch. If you put a cold compress on it and do not scratch it will subside. Also you can ask your pharmacist where to find the bite relief stuff at walgreens or longs etc.
If you are home and do this immediately after you get bitten there will be little to no itch the first day and no itch thereafter. Take a little unseasoned meat tenderizer and mix with enough water to make a thick paste. Apply the paste. It will dry and flake off by itself. What it does is destroy the protean that the mosquito injects that prevents blood clotting. This will also work for bee stings - especially if you are allergic. Don't expect miracles on bee stings but it will lessen the pain and the reaction. baking soda and water paste and put in on bite its kinda messy but works
