Why would one eyelid have a near constant twitch?

Question:
My girlfriend's right eyelid has had a mild twitch for about a week. Any ideas why this would happen? Should she seek medical attention?

Answers:
I had an eyelid twitch for about 2 months. I went to the doctor and he said it was stress. When i changed jobs, and my stress level decreased, the twitch went away. Hope that helps.

There are two things she needs to be checked for. One is high blood pressure and the other is acute glaucoma. Warning, leaving acute glaucoma untreated for any length of time can result in blindness.
Itcould either be stress or too much caffeine. if she drinks a lot of caffeinated beveraged, tell her to cut back a little. if she doesn't consume a lot of caffeine, then it might be a sign of stress.
Stress can cause twitches like this. Stress can be caused by bad things and also good things. You don't usually think about good things causting stress.
I was told years ago by a doctor that it is your sinuses and the pressure in the sinuses. I have heard people say eye strain will also cause your eyes too twitch..
