Why is my injured finger white?

Question:
2 days ago, I was working and cut my finger on some broken pottery. Several layers of skin were sliced away. I opted not to get stitches and just went ahead and poured hydrogen peroxide over it and bandaged it up. Later that day I came home, poured more over it, put a little anti-bacterial cream on it and bandaged it back up. I left it bandaged for a couple of days and today took it off. The skin is white where the sliced off (3/4 off) skin is and other skin is forming over it. I again cleaned it with hydro. peroxide and letting it air to heal a little. Is the white skin normal? (It's not just from being bandaged because it's just white where the skin sliced off.)

Answers:
Great idea with the picture!
The peroxide has bleached your skin a bit and that whiteness is normal from being covered and moist for a long period.
leave it open for a bit and see what comes of it. If it had occurred from a cut further down the finger and your tip was white then a lack of blood would be a concern but it is not so I doubt that is the problem. The fact it is healing over is a good sign of circulation normality.

Hope you feel better soon.

Other Answers:
It means that blood cant get through that finger and that something is blocking blood to get through your finger.
It's from the peroxide.

"6% (w/v) hydrogen peroxide is strong enough to bleach skin, causing white blotches caused by tiny bubbles of oxygen."
If the skin that was sliced off is still partly attached to your finger, and only that flap of skin is white, it just means that that part of your skin is dead.
no that is definetly not good! go to the doctor, cause u could have hit a vein or something and that could kill u if u dont get it taken care of fast! good luck and get well!
