Can you train your body to survive on less hours sleep?

Question:
I constantly fall asleep early in the evenings and miss a lot of what i want to watch on tv, is there a way i can train my body to stay awake longer without drinking tonnes of caffeine

Answers:
Yep. Check out www.hufa.org, the symptoms link. If you have more symptoms than just falling asleep too early, then try a diet for diabetics or hypoglycemics including a snack before heading home from work (presumably you are of working age). This should stabilize your blood sugar so you don't fall asleep right after dinner. Also, changing what you eat for dinner to lower your high glycemic carbohydrate intake, so your dinner does not lead you to sleep too early.
I know this will sound kind of silly, but getting up later might help. I know personally, if I just have to stay awake I can make myself, I generally am lucky to get about 6 hours per night, so staying up is not something I force often. You either need to get more sleep or take naps during the day. The only other option is to force yoursefl to stay awake, which is really no fun.
