Lipid profile and blood pressure within control, what is the posibility of heart attack ?
Question:
Answers:
Really really hard to say. Left my crystal ball at the shop today.
By the way lipid profile and blood pressure are only two of the available test out there to asess you chances of a heart attack. Don't forget the other well known risk factors like family history, diabetes, and tobacco use.
The other test used are hs-CRP, lipid electrophoresis, coronary calcium index, CT angiogram, folate levels, homocysteine levels, apo-lipoprotein levels are a few off the top of my head. Might as well add red wine consumption.
So to answer you question, your relative risk of developing of heart attack is much less since your lipids and blood pressure is controlled. I don't think there is perfect tool to take into account all variables and then to calculate a percent risk. But you are probably safe for the time being.
