Yes you can take too much iron! Excess stored iron can lead to atherosclerosis and ischemic heart disease. Here is a site you should check out.

too much iron will constipate the hell out of you. Good luck
An overdose of iron can also give you a heart attack--REALLY. I wouldn't mess around with taking too much of any kind of medicine, vitamin, etc. Less is more.
To much iron can be deadly. See your physician or pharmacist immediately!!
I'm not a Dr so I can't advise dosage, but if you are suffering from anemia and have been taking extra iron tabs that is why you probably feel better. Ask your local GP for more advice.
Are they over teh counter pills or prescribed? Check with your doctor as you may actually be over dosing your body on iron and that can lead to edema and possible death.

Also, iron as well as other vitamins and minerals ARE NOT energy supplements and can be toxic in large amounts.
Yes, you can overdose on iron. You only need to absorb about 1 MG a day to stay healthy. Because it's a metal, it isn't excreted through waste, it stays in the body. It only gets used up in hair and nails. It builds up in the brain and heart, so you have to be careful.

In fact, the 18 MG in most daily multivitamins is still more than people need.
