Answers:
if its a fever your talking about, give him/her childrens tylonol its a fever reducer and untill that kicks in use a cool rag on their forhead
baby asprin, baby tylenol, cool cloths,
cold sponging is no doubt the best way to do it.
Cool bath or washcloth on child's forehead and skin.
Try tempra for kids, let your child wear pajamas, long sleeves and a pair of socks so he/she would get sweat making your child's hot temperature to release from his/her body.(dont forget to change your childs clothes ones in a while esp. when he/she gets sweat) then.. Put a cold compress on your child's forehead and the best of all consult your pediatrician and seek for advice.
Give the child a glass of Tender coconut water, (It helps in reducing heat, also adds as a glucose supplement which will give him energy to fight the cause of the fever). A Paracetamol based tablet, PLUS a sponge bath.
This may sound crazy but take the childs clothing off except for the underwear. Lay them on a bed floor sofa. do not hold them as the body heat from you can actually raise their temp higher. Give the recommended dose of childrens tylenol to them then 2 hours later give then the recommended dose of childrens Motrin/ibuprofen. Depending on how high the temp is 101 just the removal of clothing and alternating the meds. 102 or higher give the recommended doses of the medicines and place cool damp cloths under the arm pits around the neck area on the forehead and in the groin area. these are known as the "hot spots". You want the fever to come down but not too fast. If temp is greater than 104 go to the ER. And also dont let the child start shivering as this will also bring up the temp if the child happens to start just place a light sheet over the child remove the damp cloths if you put any on the child.
baby aspirin, baby tylenol, and if you give a bath or a shower, let the water be just a few degrees lower than room temperature, or the kid could go into shock. But out of all of them the shower is the fastest and most effective, I got them when I was a little kid. Start the water at room temperature for about a minute, then lower it little by little, every couple of minutes, giving your child's body time to adjust to the temperature change.

I did it to my wife once when she had 101 temperature.
best way to get the temperature down is make the body lose temperature to air by convection or conduction. This is achieved by either or both. convection: by keeping child open to Air and off clothes. Conduction, by keeping cold compresees or wet sponges over maximum surface area of body.
All will work best together, so is the medicine. But if u dont follow above, medicines are useless as it gives only temporary relief.
why dont you think of treating the reason that caused fever, mostly an infection.

My toddler used to get fever fits. I was constantly on the alert. Wipe down with a cloth dipped in cold water and squeezed out. Wipe all over the body, especially under arms. Wiping down causes evaporation to take place. Never put baby into a cold bath. Could send him into shock. Remove clothing, even if it's cold. If necessary, cover with thin cotton garment. No blankets. Disprin also helps. And don't forget prayer first. God loves to help us when we call on him in the name of Jesus.
