Do you feel that the FDA should be monitored?

Question: I know that there is a food additive called, "Natural Smoke Flavor" that's used to give a smoke flavor to some cheeses and other foods. I know from nutrition studies that Natural Smoke Flavor is derived from Formaldehyde (you know like embalming fluid) but the food processors went to the FDA and complained that if they have to show a formaldehyde derivative on the ingredient label, no one will buy the product. So could they call it Natural Smoke Flavor and the FDA said, "APPROVED".
