My hands go numb and tingle constantly.wh. is this??

Question:
My doctor said carpal tunnel.but in both hands? I'm scared it's something more.

Answers:
Pain, numbness, and tingling are the classical signs of nerve damage.
Your doctor is undoubtedly right -- it's carpal tunnel syndrome.
You use both hands to type, don't you?

Other Answers:
it sounds like carpel tunnel syndrome.doing too much typing or any one thing can do that.get an ace bandaide for your wrist to help with it
if you use your hands alot.then yes that is what it sounds like.i have the same problem and sometimes it gets very painful.if your not sure with what your doctor said then maybe go for a second option.good luck to you
YOUR DOCTOR IS PROBABLY RIGHT.I DID HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM THAT WAS A PINCHED NERVE, BUT I ALSO HAD A BURNING SENSATION.
Check to see if you sleep with your hands in a position that the nerve in you wrist is bent or restricted. Also some medications can cause this problem. My doctor also said my thyroid could cause this problem but I don't know if he was just rambling on.
I would listen to the doctor a lot of people get carpal tunnel and minor sugery would correct it. I had the surgery about a year ago and I would do it again in a minute.

Some of my fingers stayed numb over a yr. then finally got better, but then some of my different fingers have gotten numb & stayed that way over a yr. AGAIN; my Doc, a yr. ago; X-rayed back of my neck & sent me to a Neuro-surgeon, who did MRI of back of my neck and told me it only showed up a small amount of arthritis and said that was normal of persons my age--in middle 50's. The neuro-surgeon told me to try B-vitamins---especially B-6 - i think it was; the vit's don't seem to help my numbness & tingling. Different ones go numb & then get better; the last few that have been numb over a yr. now --SEEM not to be as severely NUMB now; I hope they get as much Better as the other hand finally did.
I still don't know what is causing my numbness and tingling! Best wishes to you!!
your griping his member to hard and stopping the circulation to your fingers
It may involve more than carpal tunnel; it could be you have fibromyalgia (tingling being one of many symptoms). See the links below. I have it and typing, mouse clicking, writing by hand, and repetitious activities can set it off. It can also bring on bouts of insomnia.
I limit my time at the computer whenever it flares up. Sometimes I get shoulder and neck pain and a mild headache that last for days. One of those microwavable "Bed-Buddy" bean bag things (hot / cold pack) really helps. But the best thing is to just stop repetitious activities like typing for a few days.
