Hypothetical Technical ER Question...?

Question:
Let me qualify this question by stating that I am a fiction writer and I like to research as much as possible to be as technically accurate as I can. That said I would like to know the possible avenues of treatmeant INITIALLY for a similar patient who presented to the ER.

Patient is a 13 year old Asian female, 1.5 year history of back pain and recurrent falls. She recently saw her primary physician, who prescribed crutches. Sent for an MRI and on the day of scheduled MRI, patient collapsed. Taken to the ER by ambulance, presenting to the ER non-ambulatory, bilateral lower extremity spasticity, loss of voluntary control of lower extremities, and loss of bladder function. Complaining of back, and leg pain with weakness. Pulse 72, BP 130/90, Pulse Ox 94%.

What would be the initial treatment in the ER? Thank you.

Answers:
How long were the spasms? ? seizure activity? Remember ABC. Air way--Sat 94 % low of a 13 year old.
Breathing-- What's her color look like? Is she breathing? What are her respiration's like?
Circulation--Heart rate.

1. apply oxygen. Is she alert and oriented?
2.V/S what's her temp?
3. CT/MRI, labs BMP,urine.
4. Drug or meds taken?
5. Adominal pain?
This does not seem theoretical.

I would like to know what the EMS people did.
Well you have to find the undelying problem before you can do the initial treatment. I would make sure i had a family backround of genetic diseases. She might have a neurological problem. possibly menangitis. One step at a time.
