Why is it you get pins and needles?
Question:
Answers:
Sometimes that tingling feeling is caused by pressure on nerves, as well as reduced circulation, due to an awkward position. Pressure on nerves doesn't necessarily cause pain and numbness.

If it happens a lot, it can mean you might have an underlying disorder that needs a doctor's attention.
The circulation to a particular part of the body has been cut off or extremely slowed. When the pressure has been taken away the blood comes rushing back into the little capillaries and the nerves tingle.

Because you have somehow cut over circulation to whereever your pins and needles feelings are
Could be a lot things but most commonly is a result of decrease blood flow to an area causing to fall asleep or become numb. Kinda like sitting on your hand for awhile. When the blood flow returns to normal the sensation of blood reaching that area feels like pins and needles, waking that area up. Sometimes nerve compression can feel like pins and needles, but there would also be some pain and numbing.
One of many reasons could be due to poor circulation. If you are undergoing difficulties in this area I would seek medical advice through your G.P. or through the NHS helpline {who have a nurse on the phone to help with all medical queries}
I was interested to read the answers to this question as I have been getting a lot of pins and needles in my legs and arms. My medical book mentioned that arthritis caused it, anyway if it continues I will be taking a trip to the doctors.
