my son is 3 years old and i have not been able to get him to have a bowel movement for a couple days. help!?
Question:
Answers:
give him pear fruit or its juice it should help
Other Answers:
Give him apple juice. Lots of it.
Better try him some warm water fomentation on abdomen and give susp dufalac just one spoon at night.
What you should do is give him enamel(im not quiet sure of the spelling) but that will make him go toilet and it will clear any chemical that is preventing him from going toilet
Gentle massage of his tummy in a clockwise direction. Also, see your pediatrician immediately!
they sell childrens laxitives or mix some baby food prunes in some applesauce and give it to him.
Prune juice. Lots of prune juice, it works over night.
enima
lots of prune juice.....and fruit (fiber) that should do the trick :).
He may be dehydrated. The apple juice idea is good but could lead to excess gas. I suggest you go to the pharmacy and get some glycerin suppositories. These are gentle and will effect a bowel movement within 1/2 hour.
While you are at the pharmacy, buy him some pedialyte and follow the directions.
I have a four year old daughter and sometimes run into this problem. He is probably constipated. Feed him some fruit. The ruffage will help him "soften up." If that doesn't work after a couple of days, call your pediatrician.
I agree about the pedalyte. The lack of a bowel movement maybe because the plumbing is not primed for moving.
If the problem is just some kind of blockage, for a natural, relatively immediate cure, try either one of the non-caffine clear drinks like Sprite, 7-Up, any ginger ale, etc. to settle his stomach.
Then grape or prune juice to get those bowels moving.
If nothing good happens soon, TAKE HIM TO A DOCTOR!
did you call the doctor yet maybe you should from my own experience my 8 year old sister did not have a bowel movement for a month then they had to go in her and pull it out it can cause a infection and even damage his body so you should really bring him in
if he's not hurting or sick I would give it another day or two and then see a doctor.give him foods high in fiber untill then they tend to run through your system faster.
call his Dr and ask them to give you some ideas.....i know that putting a thermometer up their butts was what my daughters Dr asked me to do but I'd definitely ask his Dr asap....call and have the Dr call you back....that is very serious and could lead to a lot of problems for your son...please call the emergency number to the pediatrician now....RIGHT NOW!!!!
Dumb idea but call your pediatrician?
give him some prune juice that should get him moving.
give him a fiber filled cereal twice a day. should help.
Try giving him warm, not hot, chamomile tea with a little honey. Also try massaging his abdomen.
