Is there a trick to making your voice hoarse?

Question:

I don't mean screaming all day, although that would surely give you sore throat and probably the hoarseness. I refer to a quick trick, if there is one, without the 'loudness'.

Smoking. I wouldnt' recommend it though!

Drink a lot of cold beer, and then sleep with your face in front of a fan, and put the fan on high speed. I guarantee this works:)
