I watched a medical blog , telling pregnant women that smoking helped with child birth . This is only the latest example !

There are many reasons that research sometimes contradicts itself. Methods are different, some research is more valid than others, some is funded by companies with interest in a certain outcome (thus a positive result). If research is not done well then it is pointless. That is why it is important to understand research and know if it is valid. Be careful when believing just any research that is out there. It is research, but it doesn't mean that it is the answer to the question. Some things are in their infancy as far as learning answers.
