Medical malpractice lawsuit? What do you think?

Question:
I just had back surgery and found out that a previous surgeon had done something really bad wrong in a surgery 3 years ago. I'm suing for 2 doctors malpractice. Do you think I should tell my new surgeon that I'm suing my previous surgeons?

Answers:
he'll figure it out when you supoena all of your records from his office and he'll get nervous that you are suing him.

you should tell him...he can also give you some insight into whether he thinks the work done by the other doc was the problem, especially since he has operated on you.

I'm a physician, and I would not change the way I treat a patient if I genuinely felt they were injured by someone else. Sometimes (I'm not saying this is you) people are so upset about their medical problem...especially those causing pain, they want justice in some way. It is very common for doctors who treat painful conditions to be sued. We as physicians do make mistakes, and it is up to each individual to decide whether they think that mistake crosses the line into malpractice - which says that a physician does not know what they are doing. Additionally, sometimes we do everything right, but the outcome is less than desireable for the patient. That is why no guarantees can be made in medicine.

You should also find out if there are other techiniques beside the one told you by your current surgeon for placement of the device. This is always a possibility as most surgeries have a wide variety of approaches, etc. Be honest with your doc because he will think otherwise if he is served.

good question.
If I was a doctor and found out you were suing your previous doctors I would not have you for a patient.
Some people are sue happy and hear what they want to hear about the outcome of their procedures. They don't HEAR EVERYTHING the physician is saying just the part they want to hear.

good luck!

If the wire broke and came off and can;t be removed I would think this is a lawsuit against the manufacturer. What I meant to say was the doctor currently treating you would see you as sue happy and therefore you would have a hard time getting someone to treat you.Keep your mouth shut with your new doctor.
Your lawyer should have advised you not to discuss this with anyone.
No. Why would you do that?
Go ahead sue me lmao
There is a class action suit against the makers of the stimulators - many were defective.

Never mention lawsuits or suing or attorneys to any medical provider.

Only give the doctor the best information you can about your problem so he treats the problem the best he can.
I can't see why you would have to tell your present doctor that you are suing the previous ones. They are different situations.
