I did lower ab workout on Thursday and now I am having stomach pain. Could this be pulled stomach muscle?

Question:
I am a 6'1, 240 pound, smoking male. I have been trying to get back into shape the last couple of weeks and decided to do some leg raises to work the lower abs because I would like to get rid of this belly. I did 12 and was fine. I also did some crunches and 8 count bodybuilders. Everything was fine, I went to work, came home played with the kids, cooked dinner and right before feeding the kids I started feeling a dull ache in my lower right abdomen. After dinner it got worse and the pain moved around to my back. It still was not severe so the next day I went to work and also still felt the dull ache. I did not feel it much while I was working, but I had to climb on something and I felt a pain in my right scrotum that I also felt in my lower abdomen. I need to have some possible diagnosis or home remedy. Since I don't have insurance and I'm the sole bread winner for a family of six I cannot afford to miss work or go in the hospital. Anyone ever had these symptoms and a cure?

Answers:
More than likely, you've strained the muscle in your belly. Not to worry, just take it easy for a few days and you'll be fine.
You did too much too fast, that's why they hurt. You went from doing little or nothing to demanding that they work hard and they're protesting.
You should be starting out a little slower and building yourself up as you go. Try doing half of your routine in the morning and the other half in the evening, or lessen the number of the reps you're doing. As in rather than doing 3 sets of 10, try 2 sets of 7 and when you get used to that, go back to the 3 sets of 10.
Whatever you do, don't give up, you're on the right track regardless if you smoke or not you're pointed in the right direction now just keep going. You'll be fine.
I agree that it sounds like a pulled muscle in this case.
I would go on the NHS Direct website or similar self diagnosis site and use the services to find out what is wrong for your piece of mind if still concerned.

You say you are the sole bread winner for your family so if it was something more serious like a protruding stomach injury or a head injury, I would phone the Cuedoc or visit your GP.
You couldn't afford to catch a serious condition too late, who would support you family then?
Wishing you feel better soon and hope you continue with your fitness regime when better.
Problems with the organs in the abdominal region i.e. the digestive system, liver, gall bladder, pancreas, appendix and kidney could be the main reasons for a bad stomach ache. Gastroenteritis can give you a severe stomach ache, while stomach pain from cancer may only be mild.
