im believe im running a fever. I cant find a thermometer and the docs office is closed. How can i be sure that

It really is less important what your temperature is than how you are feeling. A fever is merely a symptom, not the problem. A fever is simply the body's attempt to destroy an invading organism, so immediately trying to break a slight fever isn't necessarily the best thing to do.
If you are feeling sick, then treat yourself as if you are. Take a couple of aspirin (or Tylenol if you can't take aspirin), drink lots of fluids, take it easy, and cool yourself down with a damp rag or blowing fan...but not to the point of shivering.
When you do get a thermometer, unless the temperature is over 101 (orally), you don't need to be any more aggressive than what I've described. If it is over 101 you are probably going to be having other symptoms as well and can decide based on the whole picture as to whether to see a doctor or not.

you won't be able to get the actual number of your temperature, but if you are feeling feverish, you probably do have one.
Take it easy, drink plenty of fluids (water) and place a cool cloth or ice pack on your head.
Go to emergency room. If you run a high temperture you can get brain damage. That is my opinion.
