I had my done a long time ago. Definitley use mouth was after you eat something and if you smoke. THe pain to me was uncomfortable for the first few days. The man told me also if your a smoker after a cigarette use listerine mouth wash also. If also needed for pain take some tylenol or ibuprofen. What helps it out also is sucking on popscicles as it soothes the pain. Your tongue may get swollen also and once in a while it may have a sting around the area where you get your tongue pierced at. Definitley when your able to eat food, becareful because you may bite down it for a while until you get use to it. Again, make sure you use your mouth wash. After a while you won't even notice it is in there becaue you will be so use to it. Good luck !
I had my tongue pierced & i uded salene solution.. salt & water. It keeps it clean & kills the bacteria. Be prepared for pain.. it doesnt ever heal but you get used to the pain after a couple of weeks.
Well you'll definitely drool in your sleep for a while.
The person who peirces it should tell you how to take care of it and if he doesn't then he's a crappy peircer.
put some gold in it , gold does not react with body and hence minimum infection, drink only warm water, no arrated drinks, try to have liguid diet for some time and definately antibotics to heal fast.

Just jab a knife in your leg. It makes about as much sense.
do not eat drink sweet things, do not smoke, do not share any utensils or tooth brushes or anything.
Rinse regulary with a mouth wash every few hours for the first day or two.
You need help! What person decides to get their tongue pierced? You will invariably chip or break your teeth, you will be succeptable to infections, your speech will be impeded. Ask your dentist if they think it's a good idea. He'll be all for it as it will keep him busy!

Make sure your not hungry before you get it done b/c it will be a pain to eat. Your toung gets swollen and it does hurt and make sure you take some kind of pain pill. Also make sure you use mouth wash every time you eat , smoke , drink, or as much as you can. I got mine down two times and the first time I didn't clean it as much so it hurt really bad the second time I kept it clean and it healed fast.
