When I woke up this morning, my leg started to hurt. Now its so bad that?

Question:
Now, its so bad that when I get up, I have a shooting pain, and I have to do it really slow. This is just all of a sudden, I didn't do anything strenuos yesterday, just walked around an airport. Could it be something serious?

Answers:
Walked around an airport. Did you also fly? If so, you need to err on the side of caution and assume you could have a DVT or deep vein thrombosis. It can be deadly. Please call your local emergency room and explain your symptoms and see if they agree that you should come in and be checked. If I have not convinced you to call the ER, please Google or Yahoo! DVT and read up on it briefly to see if it matches your complaint. Please.

Other Answers:
you might of puuled a muscle and have muscle strain or i used to not drink enough water and get charlie horses so bad that it would only happen in the morning and wake me up. so drink alot of water and then try messaging it yourself. you can loosen up muscles and it will help the pain.
Look at your leg. Is it reddened? Swollen? If so, I would go to the ER, you may have a blood clot.
Are you running a fever? Are you tired and need to sleep all the time? It could be a virus. I would suggest a doctor.
I dont think it is . If you feel in alot of pain you should go to the docter . Just to make sure that nothing is real serious . He'll tell you want's wrong .
Yes it could be. It could be an embolism. It sounds like something a doctor should look at.
The most common athletic leg pain is "shin splints" in the front of the lower leg. It happens to me when I wear the wrong shoes while running. It could be Tight Achilles. If it's a shin splint then, over time you may get bony growth on the tibia. Shin splints occur in the back of the leg also just like in the front when the muscles in the front unequally pulls with the back kind of like an imballance. If your feeling pain outside of the upper thigh then its probably something going on with your hip joint and you'll have to go see a doctor. But if there's a numb feeling in the side or front of the upper thigh then its probably pressure put on a nerve so it could be Meralgia Paresthetica. To make a long story short, Meralgia Paresthetica is from being fat or pregnant. Hope this little bit helps.
