WHAT IS THE SHOT "TURIDOL" SPELLED WRONG i KNOW, BUT FOR INFLAMMATION OF THE JOINTS?
Question:
Tureidol or something like that.
Answers:
Toradol.you can read about it at Drugs.com
Toradol (ketorolac tromethamine) is kind of a "synthetic narcotic," as they call it. I have received shots of it before, too, but it never worked for me. All it did was to give me a headache. I knew of someone else who had the same reaction (this is common, as is nausea). I have never known of it working for anyone. It can be dangerous, especially if you have a peptic ulcer or other bleeding problem (though those are not the only problems, with one of the worst being renal failure). But, a lot of ER docs don't want to write real narcotics anymore because they are worried that you are there just to get them. Believe it or not, some idiots actually purposely hurt themselves just to get them! As a chronic pain patient that has undergone several surgeries and tried quite a few different medicines for pain since I will hurt every day for the rest of my life due to a car accident, I have become quite familiar with many of the most widely-used painkillers. The only synthetic narcotic I ever had do any good at all for me was Stadol, but it put me right to sleep on the ride home from the hospital. Not something you can exactly take every day, but okay if it is just a shot in the ER for an accident. But there really is no substitute for the real thing when it comes to long-term treatment of pain. I have tried everything, including just about every alternative treatment out there. Some of those do help, and Healing Touch (or other energy-based therapy) is great for headaches, draining the pain right out of there (also great for the inflammation that causes it if that's the problem just as it helps restore circulation to stagnated places to relieve pain, like with arthritis or something like that, and smooths out tension to help with head and back aches.) A good healer can stop a headache in a few minutes with no medicines. Chronic conditions, though, take more treatments over a longer period of time. The general rule is 1 month per year of time you have had the problem. If only insurance companies would cover this therapy, I could treat the source of mine and get better, not needing so much medicine. Sadly, few do, though, and it usually costs about $50/session - too rich for me, especially as I have ben advised that I would need to be treated every day for a while to get better!. A lot more of an answer than you were seeking, but bursitis can be chronic, so I thought I would share a bit more of my experience with you and perhaps save you some $$$ and bad side effects with no real gain on a bunch of expensive new medicines if this continues to be a problem. Then, at least you have some options and know what they are.
