People, gimme your opinion on MALE nurses.?

I'm a nurse(female nurse, don't judge by the pic, my husband and I share an account) and I think male nurses really make for a more balanced working environment. Male and female personalities complement each other and even each other out. I'm not gonna point out specific stereotypes, but you probably can. I'm a big fan of male nurses and like the mixed work environment. I hope that more males continue to become nurses, and nursing loosed the steryotype of being a female profession.

I think they're great...they're certainly much in demand nowadays, especially in trauma and emergency departments. I'm a nurse, and it's always nice to have someone to break up all that estrogen, too....women can be so catty. :)

I respect them because they are doing a job and should not be made fun of because it is considered a woman's profession. Although I must profess I would much rather have sex with the female nurses.

nothing wrong with that, it's a matter of what one chooses to do with their life and sex should not be the deciding factor. Whats important is that your happy with your job and you do a good job.

I work with lots of male nurses - Some are hott so yah for them.

male nurses are hot. so caring and patient. very good qualities to have.

have never encountered a male nurse I didn't like (they seem much less cranky)

There's nothing wrong with it - same as women construction workers.

If that's what they excell in and it makes them happy then good for them (and you lol).

They gotta be smarter than blond nurses. Knew this one blond who was going to school for nursing, and I told her to let me know which hospital she ended up at so I never went there.

Gender has nothing to do with competence, and that's my main concern.

i am not too fond of mail nurses because every male nurse i have had to deal with always made me feel like i was a specimen under glass

I had one when I had to get a thyroid biopsy. He was a big burly guy. I was so scared and this procedure is painful, but he pulled up a chair and held my hand and talked to me. I never found out his name but to me he was an Angel.
