why when you hit your funny bone is it a different pain than anywhere else?

Question:

Answers:
Bend your elbow and touch the point of it. Now move about one inch toward your shoulder (along the back of your elbow). To either sides of where you are touching, you will feel a little bump. Between the bumps, there is a notch or a groove depending on how muscled you are. The Ulnar nerve runs in that notch. when you hit the "funny bone" you cause pressure on that nerve that causes pain. Interesting Ehh?

Other Answers:
its not a bone but the end of a nerve.thats why it gose all crazy.

because you hit the nerve directly. you would also feel that tingling pain if you hit most nerves directly Yes! Except it's not really pain so much as just a weird feeling, and that's why it's called the 'funny bone'.

Your funny bone isn't actually a bone at all. Running down the inside part of your elbow is a nerve called the ulnar nerve. The ulnar nerve controls feeling in your fourth and fifth fingers. It's also one of the nerves that controls the movement of your wrist. You get that funny feeling when the ulnar nerve is bumped against the humerus, the long bone that starts at your elbow and goes up to your shoulder (another reason it's referred to as the 'funny' bone).

yeh it hurts but not quite as much as ne where else
