I have torn ligamints in my right knee and they are going to do day surgery next week.?

Tell your doctor what you have in mind. Ask him how long most people take to recover. He may have an alternative as to how you approach these surgeries and in what order.
I sure hope you react better to pain meds than I do. My body has some sort of resistance to pain meds. Good thing I have a fairly high tolerance to pain. Think positive, I hope you recover quickly! If you don't mind, I'll add you to our prayer chain at church.
there is no time limit. it can take weeks or months, sometime you may not recover 100%.
My surgery took a year to overcome.

There is no good reason for you to have to endure extreme pain. Insist on something for pain. Don't take no for an answer. No matter how bad your pain is, some doctors try to udermedicate when it comes to pain. Maybe that is because it isn't them. Always exagerate your pain symptoms to your doctor. It is the only way they will listen. If you are overweight, try to lose as much weight as you can, because too much weight creates more stress on your joints, and your surgury will take longer to heal.
