What should i do about my sore throat? help!?

Question:
my throat has been so sore for the past 2 days! when i swallow it hurts. what should i eat, drink or do to make it better?

Answers:
You need to go to the doctor; it could be tonsilitis or strep throat.

While you are waiting, gargle with salt water. Also, drink hot tea with lemon and honey. Another good home remedy is grate some fresh ginger (get it in the produce section) and make some hot tea with it in the water. Sweeten with honey.

Other Answers:
echinacea spray on hand

drink water, it will help alot take tylenol cold, drink plenty of fluids and have some soup (yes, even in the hot weather).

Is your throat red or have white blotches? If so, you probably have strep and need to see a doctor immediately. If you don't, it can turn into mononucleiosis, which has it's own short and longterm complications. If nothing like that is there, sure, warm water and salt, and echinacea, as well as slippery elm (at the health food store) extract. Make a nice tea with lemon, echinacea, and slippery elm and drink it nonstop until you are full or it goes away. Emergencee is also good if you get sick of the tea to alternate with. But make sure you watch for any visual changes. EDIT: It is true that if you have strep, the salt water trick won't help at all, it will kill, and you will definitely know that's what it is. Only normal sore throats don't hurt, but strep actually produces open sores, so there's no mistaking the pain!

It all happened to me. Now I have a bad heart from the strep and mono.

DONT GARGLE SALT WATER! IT WILL TEAR YOUR THROAT UP!

Swallow honey, inhale the steam from boiling water, suck on a peppermint, drink alot of water, pulp-less orange juice helps some people.

Gargle with warm salt water. Use a small glass and about 1 heaping teaspoon salt with a little warm water. Garlge as long as you can, spit it out and repeat until the salt water is gone. You feel results immediately. If not, go to the doctor
