i feel discomfort in my shoulder, and there is a need to constantly crack it. what should i do?

Question:
my mom says i've got a cold in my shoulder. i've tried massage hundreds of times but it seems only to temporarily alleviate the pain.

Answers:
I have had pain and cracking in my shoulder for many years. I was recently referred by my doctor to a physical therapist, who said the problem was caused by instability and put me on a daily exercise program to build up the muscles. It really has helped me alot and I don't have nearly as much pain or cracking in my shoulders. Maybe you should consult a physical therapist. It worked wonders for me. Good luck!

Other Answers:
See a doctor or a chiropractor to make sure it is nothing serious.
This is not to alarm you, but rather to make sure that this thing does not develop into something more serious that may hamper you for the rest of your life.
Need to have it checked and see why the tendon won't stay in the groove that it is supposed to be in.. The only relief you can get is from cracking it and allowing the tendon to go back into place. If you don't the muscle spasms will cause a continued tightening of the shoulder girdle itself.
go to the doctor this could be a fracture bone your rebraking, or a torn rotator cuff you're not allowing to heel. Definatley use ice and ibuprofen, the discomfort is likley, partly caused by swelling in the area. Don't be a cowboy, get this looked at.
