Get into the habit of drinking a lot of water during the day. After about a week of this you will find yourself less sleepy during the day and feeling better all around.
Aim for 2 litres a day min.
And its great for your skin!
A walk around the office, or go outside at lunchtime for a change of air always helps me.
Get up every hour and stretch, walk around, bounce, do some neck isometrics...but stay away from the caffeine...in the long run, they work against you.

More rest and sleep at night. If you're feeling sluggish during the day, then you're not getting enough sleep. You should get at least 8 hours of sleep to feel energized for rest of the day.

i have the same problem...
what i do is go to the ladies room and take a nap on the powder table (there's a stool there too!)

You need to have a good breakfast (porridge oats or wholegrain cereals) to give you a 'slow burn'. Try to avoid hot foods for lunch as well as stodgy, greasy carbohydrates which will slow you down, and also avoid sugary foods which will give you an inital buzz then leave you feeling even tireder! Also, a good night's sleep will help!
take a little walk.. from your desk to the C.R. It will help to circulate your blood and makes you awake. try to drink plenty of water instead of coffee, it has two benefits.. first it will help to cleanse your body, and it will make you go to the C.R. from time to time..(it works to me) .... ;)

Don't drink coffee. It only boosts you for a brief time. Drink lots of water (boring, but necessary) and avoid 'liquid lunches'. Take a break from your desk for 5 minutes every couple of hours and take a little walk to help the circulation.
dont let people tell you Vitamins. People always tell me that and it doesnt work..
I always have a packet of biscuits on my desk to dunk in my tea during the day to keep energy levels up. Oily fish like tuna is good for keeping the mind active.
Failing that amphetamines will do it, but don't expect to produce any good work.
I used to experience the same problem.
Let's get a few basics out of the way first. What I'm going to say, assumes you aren't taking any medications that are causing drowsiness and that you are getting to bed on time and getting a good normal night's sleep.
I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea. I would go to bed at night at 10:00 and sleep through until 6:00 in the morning. I would get up, eat breakfast, take a shower and all the other normal things to get ready for work.
I would leave the house at 7:00 in the morning to drive to work and on the way, I would fall asleep at the wheel. I had run several red lights, had two minor rear end accidents, whild driving I would go for several blocks or more and not remember driving that area at all.
At work, I would fall asleep at my desk while working, people would tell me things and I wouldn't remember them.
All these are symptoms of sleep apnea. I suggest you get to your doctor and tell him everything that is going on with your sleeping problems. Sometimes even if you don't think it applys, it really does.
Treatment means sleeping with a mask at night to help you breath normally while sleeping. Since I started this, I feel 1000%, yes I meant a thousand percent, better than I did before the mask.
